Viljandi Linnaraamatukogu Ameerika Teabepunktis toimus gümnaasiumiõpilastele mõeldud inglise keele
essee kirjutamisvõistlus.

 

Esseede esitamise tähtaeg oli 30. aprill.
Vaatamata keerulisele ajale, olid kõik osalejad tublid.

Žürii, koosseisus Emily, Cory ja Ryan otsustas kohad jagada järgnevalt:

Võitjaid autasustati auhindadega e-kirja teel. 

Välja anti lisaks kolmele esikohale ka kaks eriauhinda.

Essay Writing Competition 2020

 

Each student may submit only one essay for this competition. They should be allowed guidance, but no direct editing assistance from teachers (i.e. teachers may read the essay and offer critiques on content should they so choose, but not on grammar and spelling). The essays must be truthful and original.

 

These prompts are from the US Common Application for the 2019-2020 year

1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe an application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

 

2. Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?

 

3. Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.

 

4. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
